The importance of cultural and heritage assets to a community cannot be overestimated. Andover Museum (including the Museum of the Iron Age) has played an important part in the cultural and heritage scene of our town.

Hampshire County Council which indirectly funds the Andover Museum has made significant budget cuts. Test Valley Borough Council unlike other councils does not make any direct financial contributions to their local museum. This will lead to the closure of the Andover Museum next year.

I believe that the Andover Museum is a key cultural and heritage asset for Andover. Our local council should ensure its continued funding.
