Reopen Romsey Police Station's front desk
Local Councillor Nik Daas has launched a campaign calling for Romsey Police Station front desk to be reopened to the public.
Romsey Police station closed its front desk to the public over 10 years ago.
Romsey and the rest of Southern Test Valley has trust in our Police Force. However, as we experience crime and its impact in everyday life, we want to access the police via a front desk service, as other areas across Hampshire already do so now. As such, a visible and accessible police station is wanted by residents so they can speak to officers face-to-face, report crimes and crucially gain feedback on crimes reported.
The nearest Police front desk to Southern Test Valley is Totton or Portswood, Southampton, which iare not accessible to all residents.
Across Hampshire, towns with smaller populations like Petersfield have had their front desks reopened – so why not Romsey?
Cllr Nik Daas
Romsey Police Station is still under Hampshire Police control and is being used as an operational base for officers. So it could be reopened to serve the public.
By breaking down the physical barrier and allowing residents to speak with your local officer, having a front desk service available would aid the strengthening of trust between the local community and the Police force.

Reopen Romsey Police Station's front desk
We the undersigned call on the Police & Crime Commissioner to reopen a publicly accessible front desk at Romsey Police Station, so residents can log and gain feedback on crimes.
