What a wonderful weekend! Following the vagaries of the local elections, we had the spectacular coronation of our King followed last night by an excellent concert. These were supported by street parties and volunteering events. My mother who is a staunch monarchist was in tears for most of the coronation and I do think it was a great emotional moment for most of us.

It was particularly moving when the Prince of Wales paid tribute to his father as living a life of service. He also highlighted others in this great community of ours, ranging from servicemen to NHS workers, who all serve. It reminds me of the old Royal Military Academy Sandhurst motto of 'Serve to Lead'. Service to others and caring for others are fundamental building blocks of our society. There is no shame but much honour in us all doing our bit in our way to serve our community.
