"Many vehicles are travelling much too fast on Romsey's suburban roads," says Romsey's County Councillor, Mark Cooper. "It is time that the Hampshire Constabulary stamped down on the rash of speeding on the emptier roads. The whole aim of the lockdown is to protect the NHS from being overwhelmed. Road traffic injuries increase exponentially if speed is involved. Surely, therefore, it's in the national interest to police speeding."
It became self-evident a few weeks ago that the closure of Hampshire's Household Waste Recycling Centres was contributing to an increase in bonfires and fly-tipping. There was a direct correlation with the closure of the HWRCs.

RESIDENTS of flats which have had broken security doors and buzzers for almost a year are urging for something to be done.
Many roads in Romsey, and the rest of Hampshire for that matter, are in a disgraceful state. From my email traffic I know this is an issue which really upsets local residents.

The key events in my Borough year are the start of the Ashfield Development process, which was one of the main motivations for standing again in the Tadburn Borough and Town elections in 2019; the stunning local election results on the 2nd May; the takeover of Southern Area Planning Committee by the Liberal Democrats and finding myself Deputy Test Valley Borough Mayor.
